In 2022 I “retired” from weddings, but now I’m open to them again. The reason is perfectionism. I have to make sure each wedding film is better than the last and each one is unique to the couple, tells an emotional narrative, and captures something that is worth it’s weight in gold. The cost of this for me is very high, and I’d rather not do weddings than treat it the way most videographers do. So where most of my business philosophy is about finding efficiency to keep costs down, instead weddings is about giving you the very best. If you’re looking for something with an artists true passion, and not so much affordability, I might be your filmmaker.

Kirsty and Trevor are two individuals who know what they’re looking for in life, from adopting dogs from another country, to finding each other. Coming immediately from Lauren and David’s wedding film at the same venue, I knew I had to switch it up, for fear of repeating the same film. These two have an intense passion and I sought to reveal that in their wedding film. It was on this film I was planning to retire from weddings for reasons listed above, and was afraid I couldn’t top my last one. I think I was wrong to fear that, this might be my favorite (until my next wedding).

Lauren and David both met in the theater, they are actors and artists, and their wedding had a very high energy to it. So I channeled that to create a very kinetic party-style and office-y(their fav show) film for them while remaining authentic to the emotional moments. There are so many great memories from this day, and moments that are completely unique to them, and their sense of humor. I made sure to allow that humor into the style of the film as well.

I grew up with Hendrik and so being able to capture his day was very special. Rita and his story is truly beautiful. They are both from Africa, met in college, and speak Afrikaans(and did so for their vows). It was a very “royal” wedding, and so it inspired a Downton Abbey direction in me for their film.

My first wedding film, I was the sole shooter. I’m grateful for Kyle and Abbi putting their faith in me. It was a beautiful wedding with many raw emotional moments and I did my best to capture them authentically.
